Residential Aviation skyparks, a lifestyle choice

Most people have a car or SUV parked in their garage or a boat on their tow hitch, but these people have planes.

These Residential Skyparks are gaining popularity across the country, there are 560 skyparks across the country and Central Florida is not excluded from this list of exclusive sub-divisions. There are many enthusiasts who fly to work from the Clermont Chain of Lakes but a dedicated skypark? If you travel just north of Ocala (about an hour and a half north of Orlando) you will find Jumbolair, an exclusive airpark where actor John Travolta (who also has a home in Marco Island just south of Naples, Florida) has his Gulfstream II and his Boeing 707 parked. This exclusive community boasts the longest private residential runway in the country, at 7,550 feet, it also has a luxurious country club amongst its long list of amenities.

People who live in these communities often do not fly just at the weekends but use their planes to commute to work, they say it cuts their commute time and they have the mystique of flying to work.
