Southwest handles about 21% of the traffic at Orlando International Airport, helping show its status as not just an international gateway to the world but a major hub for domestic traffic – especially as Southwest is the largest domestic carrier in the nation.

Southwest said that they had over 27 million passengers between July 1st and September 30th this year – a massive number but it is still an increase of 9.5% over last years near 25 million passengers in the same third quarter last year.

Not only were there an increase in passengers but the planes were fuller on average too in the same quarter, up to over 76% up from last years 74%.

Thi is another sign showing the airport as well as the areas hugh level of growth.

When you make a reservation for dinner and the person at the other end of the phone asks you "North or South?" You know that you are at Orlando’s great Dinner Show attraction, Dolly Parton’s Dixie Stampede!

The one show a day attraction begins with you seeing the horses that will be part of the performance in their outdoor stables. Then once inside a warm up by an entertainer in a bar area before going through into the main arena where you are wowed by a stunning performance by cowboys, cowgirls and horses, chickens, buffalo,  pigs and more!! All whilst enjoying some of the best food in town! A true homestyle southern cooking masterpice of chicken, biscuits (not what Brits mean of course!) soup, pork, baked potato and more, topped of by a soda and beer! It can’t get better than that?!

Fun, Food and lots of bright lights and stunts!!

The show is a ‘contest’ between the North and South – of American History Fame! Chock full of audience participation – for the brave!

Next time you are looking fo a fun evening out with the family or just as a couple this is definately a place to check out! – Don’t forget to make reservations as space is limited!

Much has been heard about Disney’s MGM studios in the press at the moment, from a name chage from January 2008 to Disney’s Hollywood Studios to a new Jedi Training Stage at the Star Wars ride!

If you are put off by this change, don’t be, the park is full of great family fun! Whether it is walking through a 1950′s theme hollywood street, riding the scary elevator on the Tower of Terror – a whopping 199 feet high, 13 stories as well as a frightening introductory video!! – Not for those who are afraid of heights!!

Of course there are more sedate rides, Muppet’s 3D is a great show – young or old, it is sure to please! Star Tours (the Star Wars ride) is a blast!! You play the role of innocent public transport traveller on route to the forest moon endor when..suddenly…you take part in the Death Star Run like the movies!!

There is also the Back lot tour, where you can see how Special Effects such as the ones used in the movie Pearl Harbor are used – some will get wet!! As well as taking a ride through hollywood history by way of used props – however the real fun is the mock up canyon..where you will see a fake storm cause a electricity short out that sets fire to a tanker and oil drilling facility as well as a flash flood and earthquake!!!!!! – Definately a great ride!

There are great restaurants and shops too with the New York Street and San Francisico Streets great photo opportunity’s – even the odd chance to meet Lightning McQueen & Mater from the Disney Pixar smash hit Cars!

So, there you have it, a fun day out for the family in a working movie studio!

International home builder, KB Homes is to build property with Disney Themed interiors.

The company has signed an agreement with Disney and they will feature Disney home furnishings in some of their homes in developments throughout the nation – including some homes in Orlando!

The options will be available to see in KB’s 15,000 square foot showroom facility in Orlando in 2008 where buyers can see the Disney options available to them.

This is great news! Especially in Orlando with Disney on its doorstep.
