As previously blogged about , the demand for high end homes is still very high and this section of the market is in stark contrast of the lower end which has seen a slight slowdown in recent months. The luxury home builders are finding that they cannot keep up with demand!

Anything from the $500,000 to $2 million dollar mark is selling well! The custom homebuilders are seeing a backlog in work not in weeks but months! This is great news as it shows how popular Florida property is for invesment. There are so many gorgeous locations to have homes built on and many have lake access for boating, fishing and water skiing….the true Florida lifestyle!

FAR (Florida Association of Realtors) reported that the worst of the houseing slowdown may be over with UCF’s Economics Professer Sean Snaith reporting that the market will grow in the near future through 2009. He said the may be a "slow upward climb through 2009"
This news come amongst figures of unemployment nationwide, however locally as reported previously CNNMoney picked the Orlando Metro area top in its forcasted job grow poll for cities.

All great news for the area…

3 new childrens rides open at SeaWorld Orlando. SeaWorld have added three more rides to Shamu’s Happy Harbor.

The park has delivered a competitive message to its rivals, Disney and Universal stating that SeaWorld has the best kids attractions! Yesterday the three new experiences for kids opened their gates. They are as follows:

The Sea Carosel, The Flying Fiddler drop ride and the Ocean Commotion rocking boat ride. Shamu’s Happy Harbor has grown since 2005 and now incorporates a kids rollercoaster and the teacups to name just two!! This is coupled with the company going back to its roots, being a family theme park not just parents and teens. Everyone can come and have fun.

At the Kennedy Space center however more gentile rides are not to be found as the new Shuttle Experience ride blasts off!!

This new ride simulates a real shuttle launch in the most authentic way yet. The "Crew" experience the sensation of 3G’s – through various trickery including the seat pressure changing as well as subtle seat movements. At the moment the fastest thrill ride in the area is Mission: Space in Epcot which has passengers experiencing 1.5G’s….

The NASA ride will surely create a following as the passengers are "blasted into space" they hear, feel and see things as if they are travelling into space. The rocket boosters jettison and the main engine cuts off where there is decelerration from 3G’s to zero gravity as the ship glides in to the black abyss. What an awe inspiring sight. The ride finished with the revealing of the Earth through "open cargo doors" above as if the Shuttle is upside down orbiting the earth which moves overhead.

What a fantastic 5 minute ride, I would love to try it!

How many have heard of the March of the Ducks at the Peabody hotel? Probably not many, this chain of luxurious hotels is famous for keeping ducks in the hotel in their own duck palace.

The march of the ducks takes place twice a day – they come down from the palace and then go back up to the palace. It is truly an amazing sight. The kids will love it! As the brass band plays, the ducks walk and quack along, very fun.

So take time out of your hectic schedule, go to the B-Line Diner at the Peabody – a retro styled 50′s diner open to non-residents or have coffee in the atrium next to the duck fountain. Then watch the show begin!

Now, before you look and say "EDUCATIONAL! I COME FOR SOME FUN IN THE SUN WITH THE KIDS!" look no further, the Orlando Science Center has all this, a Dinosaur exhibit, – Dinosaurs Alive..coming June 15th! an inside the human body exhibit with real human bodies! You can see the delight in little Junior’s eyes already!

There are also some experiments the kids can take part in as well as a planetarium! Also, there is an observatory containing a huge telescope for the astro-nuts! For the lab-tech minded amongst us there is a scanning electron microscope! Wow! See things in detail like never before!

What a fun day out, if you are on holiday, live here or are even looking at your own Florida Villa to purchase, take time out and visit.

The Center is located as follows:

Orlando Science Center
777 East Princeton Street

Florida

Florida is a fascinating place as we all know, so how do you find information about the state. There are many websites which tell you useful information.

www.visitflorida.com is a great resource for tourists – it gives useful hints & ideas

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Florida

This is a fantastic resource for Florida, not only does it detail some tourist information, it has statistics on population, climate – which gives some interesting facts! – and has some beautiful shots of the skylines of some of the major cities in the state. It details Florida’s path to statehood and offers a meaning to the term "Florida Cracker" It also details transportation info as well as education and economy information. A good well rounded article by Wikipedia.

The largest home in Lake County, Which is a monstrous 32,000 square feet. – Remember the average American home is 2,000 square feet and the average home in Britain is between 800 and 1200 square feet is set to go into foreclosure if the bank does not get the loans secured against it repaid.

However despite its trouble in he past it has now been destined to auction after a court order. Today is supposedly the date of the auction. The mansion and the surrounding 155 acres of beautiful Central Florida are up for grabs.

The mansion and its surrounding area has been slated for residential development. However there are still many hurdles before any development could get out of the ground.

What is for sure is that this house is an asset to Lake County, its location is absolutely breathtaking, it is perched upon the top of a rolling hill in rural Groveland.

In fact a scenic way of seeing this beauty is to take CR 561 A from Highway 27 at Minneola (Just past Clermont) follow the road past the African Mission Inn, you will drive along the shore of lake Minneola, then you will take a right on Jalarny Road then at the T- Junction at the end of that take a left… and just follow that road through rolling hills, pasture and palm tree nurseries…whilst passing an exclusive subdivision amongst the lakes you will see the largest Home in Lake County perched atop its hill on the horizon. Once you reach SR 19 take a left towards Groveland itself then a left again onto Hwy 50 which will take you all the way back to the 27. Note this drive is particularly beautiful around sunset.

Give it a try!!
